Day 17: Conference Time
Today was a good day. Presenting at the 14th International Colloquium on Nonprofit, Arts, Heritage, and Social Marketing in London Metropolitan University, catching up with an old mate Roger Bennett, and running into an old ANZMAC buddy Jillian Farquhar. As a double bonus, I got to meet Finola Kerrigan, who I followed on Twitter years ago, and finally got to meet. All up, a good day to meet, greet and tweet.
Presenting the Framework
First airing of the Antipodean Agenda went well. Nobody threw things. Need to upgrade to throw-able provocations later in the piece.
International Colloquium on Nonprofit, Arts, Heritage, and Social Marketing
I missed the entire Arts marketing stream which seemed amazingly interesting, because I was catching the highly intriguing social marketing stream. It was so refreshing to meet a portfolio of works that inspired curiosity, Google Scholar ram-raids, and a bit of conversation. I think the future of academia might be the return to the smaller ticket Colloquiums rather than the mass market conferences.
The Cusp Has Been Passed
Today marks the first day where I have spent more time on tour than I have time remaining. The cusp has been passed, the journey moves to high gear, and it’s a fine day to be me.
